Another Day, Another Title...

Having written a couple of days ago about how our Can't Be Arsed rival, Life's Too Short, had changed its name in response to F**k That!, it now transpires that the book has changed its name again, this time to Sod That! How many titles does one book need? At the time of writing, the book's poor old amazon page can't keep up -- the synopsis calls it Life's Too Short, the cover image still says F**k That! and the title says Sod That!

As a smaller publisher, one has to get used to being blown out of the water by the conglomerates. That may well still happen here, but it's nice, for today at least, to feel as if we have one of the corporate publishers on the run.

Howdy rivals!

What's all this portraying me as the corporate whore here? If you could see the blood I sweated and bills I struggled to pay when I came up with the idea for and wrote 'Life's Too Short', I mean, 'F**k That', I mean 'Sod That', you wouldn't try to dehumanise me half so much. Although you might have thought me a bit weird if you could also have seen me chuckling over my own jokes... a very bad habit, but at least I hope my enjoyment will be replicated by my readers. If your naughty-evil-bad book doesn't steal them all!

Anyway, I'm hoping for a 'together we are stronger' assault on the market... After all, the fact that we both had the same idea proves there's something in the air, and that all those damn lists and self help books out there are starting to annoy...

Howdy rival indeed,

The Corporate dig was a nod towards your publisher rather than your good self -- Hachette, after all, are the largest publishing group in the UK, whereas as we are a substantially smaller independent house, with no missile making capabilities. Mind you, IT have been rather quiet of late...
